This is because the psychology of money allows us to understand people's relationship with material resources. Basically, our approach to money is shaped by personality, experiences and environmental influences, and our financial well-being is shaped by our money-related behaviors. At this point, understanding the psychology of money will help us make sense of why we save, why we borrow, or why we hesitate between investing and postponing investments.Öğe Istanbul Gelisim University IISBF SosyoCom: Monthly Events and News Bulletin (Issue: 44, August 2024)(İstanbul Gelişim Üniversitesi Yayınları / Istanbul Gelisim University Press, 2024) Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social SciencesTHE EFFECTS OF THE OLYMPIC GAMES ON COUNTRIES’ ECONOMIES Today, all sporting events are held at certain costs. In recent years, the increase in the diversity of investment instruments due to financial globalization and the fact that investment processes are faster and easier than in the past can lead to an increase in the number of individual investors. On the other hand, in countries where inflation is high, it is possible to observe an increasing number of people trying to protect their savings against inflation through various investments. In fact, individual investors can now open positions on variables such as stocks, mutual funds, crypto assets, foreign exchange, commodities, stock market index, EFT, bonds and certificates quickly and with a single order. The author notes that modern man, who has created a safe and comfortable life for himself in cities, longs for nature on the one hand. We all experienced the importance of our need for nature, especially during the period when the Coronavirus, which confined the whole world to their homes in 2020, forced us into a completely different life where we couldn't socialize, go to work or school, and had to operate only in the digital environment.Öğe Istanbul Gelisim University IISBF SosyoCom: Monthly Events and News Bulletin (Issue: 47, November 2024)(İstanbul Gelişim Üniversitesi / Istanbul Gelisim University, 2024) Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social SciencesDISCOVER ORIENTALISM IN PERA MUSEUM If you're interested in Orientalist paintings, the Pera Museum in Istanbul is a great place to visit. Independent board members help owners make good decisions by saving the company from family dynamics and bad family practices. Today, owners have started to think about either selling their firms or making a serious transformation more than they ever thought possible due to the economic slowdown. To decide on the best option in a short time, there is a need for access to experience and knowledge. The boards of family firms are the most important resource to be activated at these times. This well-designed resource facilitates decisions regarding the company's goal, leadership, strategy and future ownership structure by considering economic change and other external factors. A board member who is not a family member and is not an executive makes a profound contribution to the firm by demonstrating his/her impartiality and experience in difficult decisions. Board members with the characteristics mentioned earlier also work to balance the needs of the family and the firm in the long term in the new complex economic order.Öğe Istanbul Gelisim University IISBF SosyoCom: Monthly Events and News Bulletin (Issue: 49, January 2025)(İstanbul Gelişim Üniversitesi / Istanbul Gelisim University, 2025) Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social SciencesPrehstoric Human Silhouettes The Neolithic Period can be described as a period in which food production, as well as technology and lifestyles, reached significant levels. The early phase of this period, spanning from 10,200 to 8,200 BC, is referred to as the Pre-Pottery Neolithic A (PPNA), followed by the Pre-Pottery Neolithic B (PPNB) phase, which provides substantial evidence of agriculture and animal husbandry (Kenyon, 1954; Akkermans and Schwartz, 2003, p. 45). The transition to settled life in the Southeastern Anatolia region during this period can be regarded as an indicator that arose due to the development of certain environmental and social conditions (Belfer-Cohen and Bar-Yosef, 2002, p. 19). The geographical scope of the Near East, recognized as the cradle of Neolithic culture, includes a broad area that spans from Palestine through Israel, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, Northern Iraq, Western Iran, Southeastern Anatolia, Central Anatolia, and Cyprus (Özdoğan, 2007, p. 446-447).Öğe Istanbul Gelisim University IISBF SosyoCom: Monthly Events and News Bulletin (Issue: 50, February 2025)(İstanbul Gelişim Üniversitesi / Istanbul Gelisim University, 2025) Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social SciencesA HISTORY OF OF THE WORLD IN 6 GLASSES Tom Standage's book, A History of the World in 6 Glasses, attracts the attention of readers interested in history by offering a different perspective from conventional history books. Based on this, Grok is designed not only as an artificial intelligence that provides information, but also as a system that "understands" the user and integrates with them.
