A HISTORY OF OF THE WORLD IN 6 GLASSES Tom Standage's book, A History of the World in 6 Glasses, attracts the attention of readers interested in history by offering a different perspective from conventional history books. In his book, Standage describes the historical development of the world through six drinks. These drinks are beer, wine, distilled spirits, coffee, tea and cola. In his book, Standage examines these drinks in six chapters, one by one, allowing us to look at history from a different perspective. It is noticed that the author intends to touch upon the story of the consumption of these drinks and, in this context, to try to shed light on the economic, social and cultural transformations of human history.
