Sözcü ve Yeni Akit Gazetelerinde Yer Alan “2 Nisan Boykot” Haberlerinin Karşılaştırmalı Eleştirel Söylem Analizi

Abstract

Araştırma birbirlerinden farklı mülkiyet yapısı ve politik duruşa sahip Sözcü ve Yeni Akit gazetelerinin “2 Nisan Boykot” (İstanbul Büyükşehir Belediye Başkanı Ekrem İmamoğlu’nun tutuklanmasına ve kötüleşen ülke ekonomisine tepki olarak başlatılan kitlesel satın almama hareketi)’a ilişkin haberleri ele alış biçimleri arasındaki farklılıkları ve benzerlikleri ortaya koymayı amaçlamıştır. Bu amaçla Sözcü ve Yeni Akit gazetelerinin 02 Nisan 2025 – 04 Nisan 2025 tarihleri arasındaki haber arşivlerinin her birinden üçer adet olmak üzere toplam altı adet haber rastgele örnekleme yöntemiyle seçilerek eleştirel söylem analizi yöntemiyle analiz edilmiştir. 02 Nisan 2025 – 04 Nisan 2025 tarihleri konuya ilişkin haberlerin yoğun olarak işlendiği zaman dilimi olduğundan örneklem söz konusu gazetelerin bu üç günlük arşivinden seçilmiştir. Örneklem olarak seçilen haberler makro ve mikro yapıdan analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda incelenen haberlerin hem makro yapı analizinde hem de mikro yapı analizinde önemli farklılıklar ve benzerlikler tespit edilmiştir. Makro yapı analizinde haber başlığı, fotoğraf kullanımı, arka plan/bağlam bilgisi, kaynak ve kişisel yorum açısından benzer; haber girişi ve ana olayın sunumunda farklı yol izlendikleri saptanmıştır. Mikro yapı analizinde ise sentaktik ve retorik açından hem benzerlik hem de bazı farklılıklar tespit edilmekle birlikte en büyük farklılığın kelime seçimlerinde görüldüğü ortaya konulmuştur.

The research aimed to reveal the differences and similarities between the ways in which Sozcu and Yeni Akit newspapers, which have different ownership structures and political stances, handled the news regarding the "2 April Boycott" (the mass non-purchase movement initiated as a reaction to the arrest of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem Imamoğlu and the deteriorating country's economy). For this purpose, a total of six news stories, three from each of the news archives of Sozcu and Yeni Akit newspapers between 02 April 2025 and 04 April 2025, were selected by random sampling method and analyzed with the critical discourse analysis method. Since 02 April 2025 - 04 April 2025 is the time period when news on the subject is covered intensively, the sample was selected from these three-day archives of the newspapers in question. The news selected as a sample were analyzed from macro and micro structures. As a result of the research, significant differences and similarities are identified in both the macro-structure analysis and micro-structure analysis of the news analyzed. In the macro-structure analysis, it is determined that they follow a similar way in terms of news title, use of photographs, background/context information, source and personal interpretation; however, they follow different ways in the introduction of the news and presentation of the main event. In the microstructure analysis, although both similarities and some differences were detected in terms of syntactic and rhetoric, it was revealed that the biggest difference was seen in word choices.
