This chapter provides an overview of the usage and benefits of pulverized fuel ash (PFA) as supplementary cementitious materials (SCMs) and aggregates in concrete production. It highlights the extensive research conducted on PFA's microstructural, fresh, mechanical, and durability properties, as well as its environmental advantages. This chapter emphasizes the advantages of utilizing fly ash in concrete manufacturing and its potential for promoting sustainability in the construction industry. The findings from numerous studies reveal that fly ash can be effectively used as an SCM and artificial aggregate, offering improved strength characteristics and durability performance. The recycling of fly ash into artificial aggregates presents a sustainable solution for managing waste and conserving natural resources. This chapter concludes by emphasizing the significance of fly ash in steering the industry toward a more sustainable trajectory and encourages further exploration of its applications in concrete production.
