Abstract

ABOUT ÖZNUR’S ARTWORKS I met oznur Isir in Kosovo during a symposium. I saw the sheets of paper placed on the ground, one then two and soon a field of two-colored leaves, lightly painted in water, I hadn’t seen anything yet. And when Oznur had finished preparing all these light and cheerful little surfaces, she began to draw very small things, barely visible, in a few lines of formidable efficiency. I approached, curious to see and I was touched in the heart by… a small house. The whole art of Oznur is to provoke a torrent of emotion with an economy of means, a sobriety that suddenly propels you into childhood, the smells of spring in the fields. She captured me in her world with this effect of overwhelming surprise and great tenderness, pure poetry, dreamlike painting. She eliminates the superfluous, she seeks the essential in few lines and the emotion is intact. Everything participates from the choice of two contrasting colors that blend into each other, to the small tree attached to the house, the depth of the design through the perspective of these small houses in the distance, everything is simple, but measured and with great accuracy. Getting to trigger great emotions with such lightness, on a small format while remaining in a great simplicity, it’s great art. EMMA POPPY

À PROPOS DES OEUVRES D’ART D’ÖZNUR - J’ai rencontré oznur Isir au Kosovo lors d’un symposium. J’ai vu les feuilles de papier posées au sol, une puis deux et bientôt un champ de feuilles bicolore, peintes à l’eau avec légèreté, je n’avais rien vu encore. Et quand Oznur eu fini de préparer toutes ces petits surfaces légères et joyeuses elle s’est mise à dessiner de toutes petites choses, à peine visible, en quelques traits d’une redoutable efficacité. Je me suis approchée, curieuse de voir et j’ai été touchée en plein cœur par … une petite maison. Tout l’art d’Oznur c’est de provoquer un torrent d’émotion avec une économie de moyen, une sobriété qui vous propulse d’un coup dans l’enfance, les odeurs de printemps dans les champs. Elle m’a capturé dans son monde avec cet effet de surprise foudroyant et d’une grande tendresse, de la poésie pure, de la peinture onirique. Elle élimine le superflus, elle cherche l’essentiel en quelques traits et l’émotion intact. Tout y participe le choix des deux couleurs en contraste qui se fondent l’une dans l’autre, le petit arbre accolé à la maison, la profondeur du dessin par la perspective de cette petite maison au loin, tout est simple, mais mesuré et d’une grande justesse. Arriver à déclencher des grandes émotions avec une si grande légèreté, sur un petit format en restant dans une grande simplicité, c’est du grand art. EMMA POPPY
