    The perceived organizational leisure support scale (POLSS): A turkish validity and reliability study

    This study aimed to adapt the "Perceived Organizational Leisure Support Scale" developed by Lien and Cheng in 2022 to the Turkish language and Turkish culture and to test its validity and reliability. Leisure Time Support Scale (LTSS) is basic research since it is a Turkish validity and reliability study. In the study, quantitative research, a general survey model was applied. The study population consisted of individuals over the age of 18 working in public institutions and private enterprises in Istanbul. The sample consisted of (n=286) volunteer participants working in institutions and enterprises, determined by the appropriate sampling methods. As a data collection method, a survey technique was applied and data were collected online and voluntarily. The original form of the "Perceived Organizational Leisure Support Scale" consisted of 4 sub-dimensions and 14 items. To adapt the scale to the Turkish language and Turkish culture, the language validity of the scale was ensured by using the translation-back translation method. SPSS 20 and LISREL 8.80 statistical package programmers were used for data analysis. The construct validity of the 14 items with 4 factors in the original form of the scale was examined by confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Cronbach's Alpha internal consistency coefficients were calculated to test the reliability level of the scale. Cronbach's Alpha internal consistency coefficient and item-total correlations were calculated to test the reliability of the Turkish version of the scale. Moreover, the most frequently used goodness of fit indices in the studies in the literature was explained. According to the obtained results, it was determined that the Perceived Organizational Leisure Support Scale (POLSS), which consisted of 14 items and 4 sub-dimensions, is a valid and reliable scale in the Turkish language and culture. It was determined that the adapted scale is an appropriate measurement tool for determining the perceived organizational leisure time support of individuals over the age of 18 working in public institutions and private businesses who regularly participate in recreational activities. © JPES.

    THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN INDIVIDUAL INNOVATIVENESS LEVELS AND LIFELONG LEARNING TENDENCIES OF STUDENTS

    This study aimed to examine the relationship between individual innovativeness levels and lifelong learning tendencies of physical education and sports school students. The study was designed in the relational survey model, which is one of the quantitative research methods. The questionnaire technique was used as the data collection method. The study was carried out on a voluntary basis. The research universe consisted of students studying at Istanbul Gelisim University School of Physical Education and Sports. The students (n=195) who volunteered to participate in the study constitute the sample. The data of the study were collected using a personal information form, Individual Innovativeness Scale, and Lifelong Learning Tendency Scale. The data were analyzed using the SPSS 25.0 package software. The Spearman correlation analysis was preferred as a statistical analysis. As a result, it was determined that the individual innovativeness level and lifelong learning tendencies of the Physical Education and Sports School students were high, and there was a weak, moderate, and high level of negative and positive correlations between the individual innovativeness levels of students and their lifelong learning tendencies. In other words, it has been determined that the lifelong learning tendency is positively affected by the increase in the level of individual innovativeness.

    The Relationship Between Quality of Life Level and Social Appearance Anxiety Level of Physically Handicapped Boccia Athletes

    This study investigated the relationship between quality of life level and social appearance anxiety levels of physically disabled boccia athletes. The population of 2018-2019 Boccia Championships for the Physically Disabled Turkey was invited to participate (N= 97 athletes), and sampling was determined by simple random sampling (n = 83); data from 80 athletes were used. The quantitative study was performed by applying the linkage method to the screening model. Questionnaire technique was used as the data collection method. The descriptive form, quality of life scale, and social appearance anxiety scale were applied to the participants. Correlation and regression analysis were used for statistical analysis. When the direction and level of the relationship between quality of life and social appearance anxiety were examined, a high level and positive relationship between quality of life and social appearance anxiety was found. There is a significant relationship between quality of life and social appearance anxiety. Regression coefficient values of quality of life level contribute to social appearance anxiety level. As a result, a high and negative relationship was found between quality of life and social appearance anxiety. This study found that the quality of life level of the physically disabled individuals engaged in boccia sport contributed to social appearance anxiety level. In other words, it has been determined that the determinants of quality of life are an important or priority variable in social appearance anxiety of physically disabled boccia athletes.
