The thesis aims to examine the role of social media in shaping political consciousness during the 2019 legislative election. It is motivated by the need to understand the effectiveness of social media in manipulating public opinion, which had a noticeable impact across various fields. The 2019 legislative election significantly affected Tunisia, influencing the economy, public opinion, and social stability. Both Facebook and Instagram played important roles in assisting some parties while undermining others, as well as encouraging community participation in the elections. The research also highlights the positive contribution of social media to freedom of expression, allowing society to express opinions, particularly given the ability to conceal one's identity. This study will present the changes brought about by social media in Tunisian society, especially during the 2019 legislative elections, including shifts in thinking and increased participation in political life. However, it's important to note that social media remains a double-edged sword; while it encourages expression, politicians also use it to influence societal opinions and trends.
