    The Examination of Fear Levels From Physical Education And Sports Lesson of Students by llustrated Phobia Test

    Physical education and sports classes are generally amongst the students’ favourite classes. Children manifest themselves primarily with their behaviours in social life. Thus, physical education classes play a crucial role in improving individual differences and biological structure. The behaviours that were seen in the other classes may differ from those in the physical education classes. While the danger of injury in physical education classes may discourage the students, that is not the case in the other classes. The aim of this study is to investigate the sixth-graders' fears towards physical education classes by taking into consideration some variances.The study that was done in 2012-2013 spring term was carried out in the provinces of Van, Trabzon, Gümüşhane, Erzurum, Muş and Ağrı with 262 sixth-graders consisting of 147 females and 115 males by testing them with the illustrated phobia test. In the study, it has been investigated whether the variances such as the students' genders, residences, number of siblings, educational background of their parents, type of the movies they watch have any effects on liking or having phobia of the physical education lesson with the help of the illustrated phobia test. As a method, the illustrated phobia test’s part that was prepared for the sports hall and that was improved by Bös / Mechling (1985) has been used. It consisted of 6 pictures that were taken in sports hall and 7 pictures that were taken in water. In the data analysis t-test, analysis of variance (ANOVA) and correlation analysis were used.According to analysis of variance results, thoughts of jumping over the vault overcoming the medic ball obstacle, walking over balance beam, hands free hanging downward on chin-up bar with feet differentiated significiantly according to their love rates of physical education (p<0.05). Also, thoughts of hanging one handed on the climbing hawser, hands free hanging downward on chin-up bar with feet differentiated significiantly according to their sort of movie subjects watch (p<0.05). and thoughts of walking over balance beam differentiated according to their maternal education levels (p<0.05). According to independent ttest results, thoughts of jumping over vault overcoming the medic ball obstacle, hanging one handed on the climbing hawser, hands free hanging downward on chin-up bar with feet differentiated significiantly according to gender of students (p<0.05). In conclusion, it can be said that exercise perceptions of students could be affected by various properties of students.

    Investigation of the effects of physical education activities on motor skills and quality of life in children with intellectual disability

    Aim: This study was carried out in order to examine whether there is a difference between the quality of life and motor skills of children with intellectual disability who participate in physical education activities and those who do not participate. Method: This study was conducted with a total of 34 children with 16 children in the control group (8 girls, 8 boys) and 18 children in the experimental group (11 boys, 7 girls) using a pre-test, post-test and control group experimental design. A 14-week "Physical Education Activities Program" was applied to the children in the experimental group. Children in the control group did not participate in physical education activities. The Bruininks Oseretsky test of motor proficiency second edition brief form 2010 to measure the motor performance and “Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory (PedsQL)” developed by Varni et al. in 1999 were used for children with intellectual disability. Findings: When the motor skill tests of the children with intellectual disability in the experimental group were evaluated, significant improvements were found in fine motor precision, fine motor integration, manual dexterity, bilateral coordination, balance, speed and agility, upper limb coordination, strength tests and all dimension scores for quality of life compared to the pre-test (p < 0.05). In the control group, a statistically significant improvement was observed in the quality of life Physical Functioning score and fine motor integration, bilateral coordination, and upper limb coordination tests (p < 0.05). More significant improvement was observed in motor skills and quality of life in children with intellectual disability who participated in the 14- week physical education program compared to the control group. Conclusion: Physical education activities contributed positively to improving the motor skills and quality of life of children with intellectual disability.

    İyi Antrenmanlı Elit Kadın Güreşçilerde Kısa Süreli Antrenman Yoksunluğunda Oluşan Bazı Fizyolojik ve Atletik Performans Kayıpları

    Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı, iyi antrenmanlı kadın güreşçilerde kısa süreli antrenman yoksunluğunda oluşan bazı fizyolojik ve atletik performans kayıplarının incelenmesidir. Gereç ve Yöntemler: Çalışma, 20 elit kadın güreş sporcusu (yaş:19,35±1,60 yıl, boy uzunluğu: 160,60±6,20 cm, vücut ağırlığı: 58,75±8,81 kg) dâhil edilerek gerçekleştirilmiştir. Sporcuların zirve döneminin 4. haftasının başlangıcında, 1. fizyolojik ve atletik performans test ölçümleri alınmış, 4 haftalık antrenman yoksunluğunun ardından tekrar aynı test ölçümleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda elde edilen verilerin dağılımının normalliği, Shapiro-Wilk testiyle değerlendirilmiş ve verilerin normal dağılıma uygun olduğu izlenmiştir. Sporcuların 2 ölçümleri arasındaki farkın istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olup olmadığına ise bağımlı örneklem t-testi ile bakılmıştır. Tüm istatistiksel analizler SPSS paket programında yapılmıştır. Çalışmadan elde edilen verilerin istatistiksel analizlerinde anlamlılık düzeyi, p<0,05 olarak belirlenmiştir. Bulgular: Araştırma sonuçları, 4 haftalık antrenman yoksunluğunda, vücut ağırlığında (%1,23), vücut yağ yüzdesinde (%3,33), dikey sıçrama yüksekliğinde (%-2,17), el kavrama kuvvetinde (%- 1,12), ve maksimum oksijen tüketimi değerlerinde (%-2,04) anlamlı değişiklikler olduğunu ortaya koymaktadır. Sonuç: İyi antrenmanlı kadın güreşçilerde, kısa süreli antrenman yoksunluğu sürecinde vücut kompozisyonunun hızlı bir değişime girdiği ve atletik performansla ilişkili parametrelerin olumsuz etkilendiği bulunmuştur.
