Öğe Exploring the Influence of Employee Personality on Incivility and Innovative Deviance Among Frontline Hotel Employees: The Mediating Role of Perceived Stress(MDPI, ST ALBAN-ANLAGE 66, CH-4052 BASEL, SWITZERLAND, 2024) Alola, Uju Violet; Egeli, Serdar; Echebiri, ChukwuemekaThis study looked at the complex interactions between agreeableness as a personality trait and five deviant workplace behaviours (including experienced incivility and innovative deviant behaviour) and the role of perceived stress as a mediating mechanism in front-of-house hotel workers. The study adopted a convenience sampling approach to improve access to frontline employees in the hotel sector in Turkey; a total of 500 questionnaires were collected, and 360 were usable. A partial least square structural equation modelling (PLS-SEM) was used to test the conceptual model and hypothesised associations. The findings show that agreeableness has a negative association with perceived stress and experienced incivility but is positively correlated with innovative deviant behaviour. In contrast, perceived stress is negatively correlated with innovative deviant behaviour but positively associated with experienced incivility. We also found that perceived stress serves as a mediating mechanism in this relationship. According to the findings, the personalities of employees and how they perceive stress could shape how it impacts workplace deviance, depending on whether it is constructive or destructive. The study’s findings have significance for managerial policies aimed at building a collaborative and innovative workplace and understanding how personality traits and perceived stress impact broader workplace deviance.Öğe A Parallel Mediation Study of Hospitality Employee's Innovative Work Behavior and Proactivity Using Self-Determination Theory(Sage Publications Inc, 2024) Lasisi, Taiwo Temitope; Enea, Constanta; Eluwole, Kayode Kolawole; Egeli, SerdarInnovativeness is becoming increasingly significant in driving organizational competitiveness and relevance; however, studies advancing the impact of innovation-based human resource management are sparse. In this study, we examine the relationship between innovation-based human resource system (IBHRS), employee proactivity, innovative work behavior, and employee performance, as well as the individual and parallel mediating role of both employee proactivity and innovative work behavior on the relationship between IBHRS and employee performance. Empirical results based on data collected from 247 dyads of passenger-contact employees and their managers in Nigerian airports indicate that IBRHS positively affects employee proactivity and innovative work behavior. In addition, we found that employee proactivity and innovative work behavior fully mediate the relationship, and the significant difference in the mediating effects suggests that innovative work behavior is a more significant mediator of the two. Theoretical contributions and practical implications were discussed based on these findings. Innovative work behavior in aviation industryAlthough research on the impact of innovation-based human resource management is scarce, it is critical for organizational competitiveness. The purpose of this research is to investigate the relationship between innovation-based human resource systems (IBHRS), employee proactivity, innovative work behavior, and employee performance. It also investigates the function of employee proactivity and inventive work behavior in moderating the IBHRS-employee performance link. Empirical findings from 247 dyads of Nigerian airport employees and managers reveal that IBHRS favorably promotes employee proactivity and innovative work behavior. Employee proactivity and innovative work behavior both fully moderate the connection, with the latter being the more important mediator.Öğe Sürdürülebilir Gastronomi Turizmi Kapsamında Yenilebilir Böcekler(İrfan Yazıcıoğlu, 2022) Egeli, Serdar; Kızıldemir, Özgür; Hülağa Kaderoğlu, GizemGastronomi unsurlarının turizm endüstrisine olan katkılarının artması gastronomi turizmi kavramını ortaya çıkarmış ve gastronomi bilimi, turizmin bir alt dalı haline gelmiştir.
