45-60 Yaş Arası Kadınlarda Menopoz Semptomları ve Menopoz Tutumu İle Yaşam Doyumunun İncelenmesi
Abstract
Aim: The aim of the study was to determine the menopausal symptoms, menopausal attitudes and life
satisfaction of women aged 45-60 years.
Method: The research is descriptive and was conducted with women between the ages of 45-60 living in
Turkey between March 2021 and August 2022. The sample of the study consisted of 297 participants between
the ages of 45-60 who agreed to participate in the study. The data were collected through an online
questionnaire using the individual identification form developed by the researchers, the Menopause
Symptoms Assessment Scale, the Menopausal Attitude Scale, and the Life Satisfaction Scale. The data were
evaluated with the SPSS 22 program.
Results: The mean age of the women in the study was 52.74±4.04 years, and the mean age of menopause
was 48.12±4.12 years. In the study, the mean score obtained from the menopausal symptoms scale was
15.72±9.86; the mean score of the attitude scale towards menopause was 46.04±14.46 and the mean score
of the life satisfaction scale was 15.66±5.55. There is a negative, moderate (r=-0.043; p<0.01) correlation
between the menopausal symptoms assessment scale and the attitude towards menopause scale, a negative,
weak correlation between the menopause symptoms assessment scale and the life satisfaction scale (r=-0.12;
p<0.05). In the study, hot flashes sweating were reported as the most rate severe symptom (19.9%).
Conclusion: In the study, it was determined that women experienced various symptoms during
menopause, and these symptoms were associated with life satisfaction and menopausal attitude.
It is thought that with the interventions to be made, the menopausal attitude can be improved, symptoms
can be reduced and life satisfaction can be increase.
