The "GreenMetric World University Rankings 2023" list has been announced. Istanbul
Gelişim University (IGU), which was included in the GreenMetric rankings for the first time
last year, was ranked 14th among Turkish foundation universities in the GreenMetric 2023
list this year. Drawing attention with its important work in the field of environmental
sustainability, IGU has proven its success once again.
The list of "UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2023", which was founded in
Indonesia in 2010 and works on green campus and environmental sustainability, has been
announced. GreenMetric aims to raise global awareness about environmental awareness;
It evaluates the sustainability efforts of universities according to 6 criteria: campus
settlement and infrastructure, energy and climate change, waste, water resources,
transportation, education and research. Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), which was
included in the GreenMetric rankings for the first time last year, increased its score by 935
points in 2023 and ranked 674th in the world with a total of 5635 points. While it ranks
58th among all universities in Turkey, jumping 7 places compared to last year, in the total
score where 6 criteria are taken into account; Istanbul Gelişim University, one of the most
preferred foundation universities in Turkey, stood out among foundation universities in
the GreenMetric 2023 ranking. IGU ranked 14th among foundation universities, rising 23
