Aylak Adam Romanına Farklı Bir Yaklaşım: Bir Puer Aeternus Arketipi Olarak Bay C.

Abstract

Carl Gustav Jung psikoloji biliminin öncülerinden biri olup analitik psikolojinin kurucusu olarak tanınmaktadır. Jung’un psikoloji literatürüne kazandırdığı önemli terimlerden biri “arketip”tir. Ana örnek, ilk örnek, ilk model gibi anlamlara gelen arketip kavramını Jung kolektif bilinçdışının çekirdek yapıları olarak değerlendirmiştir. Jung temelde dört arketip tanımlamıştır. Ancak ona göre bu arketiplerin sayısı aslında sınırsızdır. Jung’un tanımladığı çok sayıda arketipten biri de çocuk arketipidir. Puer aeternus ise “ebedî çocukluk” olarak bu arketip içinde yer alır. Arketip kavramı edebi eserlerde de çokça yansıması bulmuştur. Nitekim Yusuf Atılgan’ın ilk romanı olan Aylak Adam romanında da roman başkişisi Bay C.’de puer aeternus/ebedî çocukluk arketipiyle uyumlu birçok taraf olduğu görülmüştür. Bu çalışmanın amacı çokça Oedipus karmaşası merkeze alınarak değerlendirilen C.’ye farklı bir açıdan yaklaşarak onun puer aeternus ile uyumlu yanlarını ortaya koymaktadır. Bu amaçla çalışmada öncelikle arketipler hakkında bilgi verilmiş, puer aeternus arketipi tanıtılmış ve C.’nin bu arketip ile birçok yandan uyuştuğu örneklenerek onu bir ebedî çocuk olarak değerlendirmenin mümkün olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.

Carl Gustav Jung is one of the pioneers of the science of psychology and is known as the founder of analytical psychology. One of the important terms that he brought to psychology literature is the “archetype”. The term archetype, which can mean the main example, the first example, the first model, was considered by Jung as the core structures of the collective unconscious. Jung basically defines four archetypes, but according to him the number of these archetypes is actually unlimited. One of the many archetypes that Jung defined is the child archetype. Puer aeternus is included in this archetype as “eternal childhood”. The archetypal also found much reflection in literary works. As a matter of fact, in the novel Aylak Adam, which is the first novel of Yusuf Atılgan, it was seen that there were many sides compatible with the puer aeternus / eternal childhood archetype in the roman character Mr. C. Many times, Mr. C. has been evaluated by taking the Oedipus complex to the center. The aim of this study is to approach C. from a different angle and reveal his harmonious aspects with the puer aeternus archetype. For this purpose, firstly, information about archetypes was given. Then puer aeternus archetype introduced and it has been concluded that C. is compatible with this archetype on many sides and it is possible to evaluate him as an eternal child.
