LITERACY, DIGITAL LITERACY AND
DIGITAL MEDIA LITERACY
Although the concept of literacy is used for individuals who
can read and write, "being literate" is perceived as "having
knowledge" in society. The concept of literacy is defined by
the Turkish Language Association as "the state of being
literate" (Turkish Language Association, 2023). In
international dictionaries, the concept of literacy is; It has
two different meanings: ("the ability to read and write"), "the
state of being literate" and ("knowledge of a particular
subject, or a particular type of knowledge"), "the state of
having knowledge and skills about a particular subject or
