Covid-19 salgınının üniversite öğrencilerinde depresyon ve anksiyete düzeyleri ile ilişkisi

Abstract

Bu araştırmada, üniversite öğrencilerinin COVID-19 pandemi sürecinde depresyon ve anksiyete seviyelerinin ölçülmesi ve bunların sosyo-demografik değişkenlere göre anlamlı düzeyde farklılıkların olup olmadığının tespiti hedeflenmiştir. Çalışma kapsamında nicel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemi; Türkiye genelinde öğrenim gören ve tamamı gönüllü olan toplam 409 öğrenciden oluşmaktadır. Bu çalışmaya katılan öğrencilerin 301'i kız, 108'i ise erkek bireylerden oluşmaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında oluşturulan ankette; cinsiyet, şehir dışında okuyup okumama durumu, ailenin gelir düzeyi, eğitime ara verme durumu, çalışmaya devam etme, kronik hastalığın mevcudiyeti, COVID-19 teşhisi alma durumu, ailede veya çevrelerinde COVID-19 nedeniyle kayıp durumu ve yer değişkenine göre öğrencilere sorular yöneltilmiştir. Ayrıca, Hisli tarafından üniversite öğrencileri ile geçerliliği ve güvenirliği yapılan Beck Depresyon Ölçeği, Ulusoy ve ark. tarafından yapılan Beck Anksiyete Ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Anket çalışmasında kişiler tarafından elde edilen veriler istatiksel yöntemler ile bulgular bölümünde değerlendirilmiştir. Yapılan araştırmanın sonucunda ise; öğrencilerin COVID-19 sürecinde depresyon ve anksiyete düzeylerinde anlamlı fark gösterdiği tespit edilmiştir. Ayrıca öğrencilerin depresyon ve anksiyete puanlarının şehir dışında okuyup okumama durumuna, yer değişkenine göre, maske kullanımı, COVID-19 nedeniyle kayıp yaşamalarına göre anlamlı fark gösterdiği fakat katılımcıların cinsiyet, eğitim durumu anlamlı fark göstermediği belirtilmiştir.

This study is aimed to measure the depression and anxiety levels of university students during the COVID-19 pandemic process and to determine whether there are significant differences according to socio-demographic variables.Quantitativeresearch method was used within the scope of the study.Within the scope of the research sample; It consists of a total of 409 students, all of whom are volunteers, studying throughout Turkey.Of the students participating in this study, 301 are girls and 108 are boys.In the survey created within the scope of the study; questions were asked to the students according to gender, whether or not to study outside the city, income level of the family, interruption of education, continuing to work, presence of chronic disease, diagnosis of COVID-19, loss of family or environment due to COVID-19 and location.In addition, Beck Depression Scale, validated and reliable by Hisli with university students, and Beck Anxiety Scale made by Ulusoy et al. Were applied. In the survey study, the data obtained by the individuals were evaluated in the statistical methods and findings section.As a result of the research done; It was determined that students showed a significant difference in their depression and anxiety levels during the COVID-19 process.In addition, it was determined that the depression and anxiety scores of the students showed a significant difference according to the location variable, the use of masks, loss due to COVID-19 and the location variable, but the gender and educational status of the participants did not show a significant difference.
