Kepler'in "Harmonices Mundi" Tasarısının Felsefi Temelleri

Abstract

Astronomi, astroloji, matematik, göksel fizik, doğa felsefesi ve optik alanlarındaki çalışmalarıyla tanınan Johannes Kepler’in tüm hayatını adadığı kozmik armoni fenomeninin temelleri Antik Çağ felsefesine dayanmaktadır. Nitekim Pisagorculuk ile birlikte gelişen “müzik – matematik” ilişkisi, Pisagor’dan beri astronomi ve geometrinin iç içe çalışıldığı bir gelenek dâhilinde müzik teorisine kapı aralamaktadır. Bu geleneğin varislerinden biri olarak Kepler, ortaya koymaya çalıştığı evrensel düzen ve ahengin mantıksal temelinin, mistik ve teolojik yorumla çelişmeyecek bir açıklamasını vermeye çalışırken bu teorinin rasyonel ispatlarını, Platonik çokyüzlü küresel kozmolojiye ve Kopernikçi heliosentrizme dayandırmıştır. Gök kürelerinin müziği tasarısını Pisagorcu geometri üzerinden temellendiren düşünür, gezegen yörüngelerinin elips şeklinde olduğunu bulduktan sonra gezegen hareketlerini açıklayan üç temel yasa öne sürmüş ve bu yasaların üçüncüsü sayesinde kozmik armoni tasarısını kanıtladığına inanmıştır. Bu makalenin amacı, Kepler’in “Astronomia Nova”, “Mysterium Cosmographicum” ve “Harmonices Mundi” adlı eserlerini referans alarak Kepler’in göksel müzik tasarısını hangi felsefî temellere dayandırdığını açıklamaktır. Dolayısıyla Kepler’in kozmik armoni tasarısının ne doğrudan astronomi, ne doğrudan müzik teorisi, ne de doğrudan matematik alanında çalışılıyor olmasının yarattığı ihtiyaca cevap verebilmek adına bu tasarıyı, bilim- ve sanat felsefesi kanalında disiplinlerarası bir bakışla ele almayı denedik.

Johannes Kepler, known for his work in astronomy, astrology, mathematics, celestial physics, natural philosophy and optics, his the fundamentals of the cosmic harmony phenomenon, to which he devoted his whole life, is based on the ancient philosophy. As a matter of fact, the relationship between music and mathematics that developed with Pythagoreanism, opens the door to music theory within a tradition where astronomy and geometry have been studied together since Pythagoras. As one of the heirs of this tradition, Kepler tries to give an explanation that does not contradict a mystical and theological interpretation of the logical fundamentals of the universal order and harmony he seeks to reveal, he based his rational proofs on Platonic polyhedral spherical cosmology and Copernican helizonterism. Kepler, believing that he proved the music of the celestial spheres through Pythagorean geometry, after finding that planetary orbits are in the form of ellipses, he found three basic laws that describe the motions of the planets, and believed that, thanks to the third of these laws, he proved his cosmic harmony design. The purpose of this article is to try to explain, on what philosophical fundamentals Kepler based his design of celestial music and while doing so, to refer to Kepler's works named "Astronomia Nova", "Mysterium Cosmographicum" and "Harmonices Mundi". Therefore, we tried to handle this project with an interdisciplinary perspective through the philosophy of science and art, in order to respond to the need created by Kepler's cosmic harmony design not being studied directly in astronomy, neither directly in music theory, nor directly in the field of mathematics.
