Eleştirel Teori İle Red Pill Hareketi Uyumlu Mudur?

Abstract

İngilizce konuşulan dünyada “The Red Pill” (TRP), Türkiye’de ise Kırmızı Hap olarak bilinen sosyal hareket, son dönemde kamuoyunda sıkça tartışılan bazı imalara ve iddialara sahip bir sosyal fenomen olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır. Kırmızı Hap hareketinin temel çerçevesi ile kadınların ve erkeklerin toplumsal cinsiyet rollerinin ikili karşıtlıklar şeklinde ele alındığı söylenebilir. Kırmızı Hap düşüncesine göre erkekler, kadınlar tarafından determine edilmiş olan belirli sosyal pratikleri terk etmelidir. Bu terk edilen pratikler sonucunda erkeklerin belirli toplumsal faydaları elde edeceği ve içsel amaçlarına daha kolay ulaşacağı varsayılır. Bu çalışma Kırmızı Hap düşüncesini salt bir sosyal teori olarak inceleyerek, hakkında bilgi ve eleştiri ürettiği noktaları üç ayrı pozisyonda ele almayı amaçlanmaktadır. Dolayısıyla, Kırmızı Hap hareketini ele almanın temelde üç yolu olduğu iddia edilmiştir. Bunlar sırasıyla, Doğal/Evrimci Pozisyon, Sonuççu Pozisyon ve Eleştirel Pozisyon olarak özetlenebilir. İddiamız, Kırmızı Hap felsefesinin temel argümanları göz önüne alındığında bir çeşit politik statüko eleştirisi yapma girişimi olarak da yorumlanabilen Eleştirel Pozisyonun, Eleştirel Teori ile uyumlu olduğudur. Fakat Kırmızı Hap felsefesinin tümü için bu uyumluluk söz konusu değildir. Doğal/Evrimci Pozisyon ile Sonuççu Pozisyonun, eleştirel sosyal teorinin temel çerçevesine uyumlu olmadığı öne sürülmüştür. Bu bağlamda Eleştirel Teori ile Kırmızı Hap hareketinin uyumlu olup olmadığı sorusu eleştirel yaklaşım yöntemi içerisinde tartışılmıştır

The social movement known as “The Red Pill” (TRP) in the English-speaking world is a social phenomenon with some implications and claims that are frequently debated in the public sphere. The Red Pill treats the gender roles of women and men as binary oppositions. According to the Red Pill, men should abandon certain social practices determined by women. It is assumed that as a result of these abandoned practices, men will gain certain social benefits and reach their inner goals more easily. In this paper, the Red Pill’s thought is considered as a pure social theory, and the points criticized by this theory are discussed in three distinct positions. We claim that there are basically three ways to handle The Red Pill as a social theory. These can be summarized as Naturalist/Evolutionist Position, Consequentialist Position, and the Critical Position, respectively. We argue that the Critical Position of the Red Pill philosophy can be regarded as an attempt to criticize the political and cultural status quo. Therefore, it is compatible with some kind of critical theory. However, this compatibility is not the case for all The Red Pill approaches. It is argued that the Naturalist /Evolutionist Position and the Consequentialist Position are not compatible with the basic framework of a critical social theory.
