Lise öğrencilerinin ailelerinden algıladıkları duygusal istismar düzeylerine göre benlik saygıları

Abstract

Bu araştırmanın temel amacı lise öğrencilerinin bazı demografik özellikleri ve ailelerinden algıladıkları duygusal istismar düzeylerine göre benlik saygılarının incelenmesidir. Araştırmaya İstanbul’daki farklı liselerde öğrenim gören 236 kadın ve 204 erkek olmak üzere toplam 440 öğrenci katılmıştır. Araştırmada verileri toplamak amacıyla Psikolojik İstismar Ölçeği, Rosenberg Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği ve araştırmacı tarafından hazırlanan Kişisel Bilgi Formu kullanılmıştır. Araştırmadan elde edilen verilerin istatistiksel analizi SPSS 23.0 paket programı ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde, t testi ve iki yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA) kullanılmıştır. Gruplar arasında oluşan farkın kaynağını belirlemek üzere Scheffe Çoklu Karşılaştırma Testi uygulanmıştır. Araştırmada hata payı .05 olarak belirlenmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucuna göre katılımcıların ailelerinden algıladıkları duygusal istismar düzeyine göre benlik saygılarında anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur. Cinsiyet ve algılanan beden imajı değişkenlerine göre katılımcıların benlik saygılarında anlamlı farklılık bulunmuştur. Lise öğrencilerinin sınıf düzeyi, öğrenim gördükleri okul türü, ailelerinin gelir düzeyi, algıladıkları baba tutumu ve algıladıkları anne tutumuna göre benlik saygılarında anlamlı bir farklılık görülmemiştir. Diğer taraftan lise öğrencilerinin benlik saygısı üzerinde demografik değişkenler ile aileden algılanan duygusal istismarın ortak etkilerinin anlamlı olmadığı saptanmıştır.

The main purpose of this research is to examine the self-esteem of high school students according to some demographic characteristics and the level of emotional abuse they perceive from their families. A total of 440 students, 236 women and 204 men, studying at different high schools in Istanbul participated in the research. The Psychological Abuse Scale, the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and Personal Information Form which prepared by the researcher were used to collect data in the study. Statistical analysis of the data obtained from the research was carried out with the SPSS 23.0 package program. In the analysis of the data, t-test and two-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used. Scheffe Multiple Comparison Test was applied to determine the source of the difference between the groups. The margin of error in the study was determined as .05. According to the results of the research, a significant difference was found in the self-esteem of the participants according to the level of emotional abuse they perceived from their families. A significant difference was found in the self-esteem of the participants according to gender and perceived body image variables. There was no significant difference in self-esteem of high school students according to their grade level, type of school they attend, income level of their families, perceived father attitude and perceived mother attitude. On the other hand, it was determined that the common effects of demographic variables and perceived emotional abuse from the family on the self-esteem of high school students were not significant.
