Toplumsal cinsiyet kalıplarının dijital platformlarda işlenmesi konusunda nitel bir araştırma: Netflix örneği

Abstract

Bu tezde 18-30 yaş aralığı hedeflenerek toplumsal cinsiyet, sansür ve Aşk 101 hakkında 20 kişiyle derinlemesine görüşme yapılmıştır. Araştırmada alınan bilgiler doğrultusunda dijital platformda toplumsal cinsiyet kalıplarının nasıl işlendiği, yargıları kırıp kırmadığı sorgulanmıştır. Araştırmanın kuramsal çerçevesini erkeklik sosyolojisi ve feminist teori oluşturmaktadır. Amaç iki perspektiften toplumsal cinsiyet kalıplarını açıklamaktır. Literatürde Netflix adına toplumsal cinsiyet verilerinin azlığı göz önüne alınarak literatüre katkı sağlanmak hedeflenmiştir. Öncelikle literatür taranmış, daha sonra saha çalışması yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemi Beylikdüzü ilçesi olmaktadır. Bu tezin bir diğer amacı da dijital platformda oluşan sansürün katılımcılar hakkındaki görüşleri olmuştur. Elde edilen bilgiler doğrultunda sansürün gençler tarafından doğru bulunmadığı, toplumsal cinsiyet farkındalığının ancak kişi isterse dikkat çekici bir durum olduğu ve dijital platformların daha özgür platformlar olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Öte yandan katılımcılar Netflix dizisi olan Aşk 101 dizisinin toplumsal cinsiyet kalıpları ele alındığında farklı bir bakış açısı sergilediğini dile getirmişlerdir.

In this thesis,20 people were interviewed in depth about gender, censorship and Love 101 by targeting the 18-30 age group.In line with the information obtained in the research, it was questioned how gender stereotypes are processed on the digital platform, whether they break judgments or not. The theoretical framework of the research is the sociology of masculinity and feminist theory. The aim is to explain gender stereotypes from two perspectives. In the literature, it is aimed to contribute to the literature by considering the lack of gender data on behalf of Netflix. First of all, the literature was scanned and then field work was carried out. The sample of the research is Beylikdüzü district. Another purpose of this thesis was the opinions of the participants about censorship on the digital platform. Based on the information obtained, it was concluded that censorship was not found to be true by young people, gender awareness was only a remarkable situation if one wanted to, and digital platforms were considered to have much more freedom comparing to other platforms. On the other hand, the participants stated that the Netflix series Aşk 101 shows a different perspective on gender stereotypes.
