Özel okulda okuyan 12. sınıf öğrencilerin meslek seçimine aile yapısının etkisi: Kocaeli ili örneği

Abstract

Meslek seçimi ile ilgili bazı kuramcılar, "bireyin doğumundan ölüme kadar olan süreçlerini ele alarak belli yaş aralıklarında beklentilerinin değiştiğini ve çeşitli karar verme aşamalarından geçtiğini gözlemlemişlerdir. Bu süreçlerde birey geleceği ile ilgili kararlar verirken, aileye de önemli görevler düşmektedir. Her şeyden önce ailenin bireyi iyi tanıması ve bireyin özelliklerine göre yol gösterici olması gerekmektedir. Bazı aileler buna uygun şekilde davranırken bazıları yol gösterici olamadan direkt olarak bireyleri itibarlı mesleklere ya da mesleki eğitim sonrası iş bulmakta zorlanmadan mesleğini icra edeceği mesleklere yönlendirmekte hatta birey üzerinde baskı kurmaktadır. Bireyin üzerinde kurulan baskı yanlış seçimler yapmasına ve istemediği bir hayatı yaşamasına sebep olabilir."Bu kapsamda 12. Sınıf öğrencilerin okul tercihlerinde aile ve okul etkisinin araştırılması oldukça önemli bir konu olduğundan bu çalışma kapsamında meslek seçiminde aile yapısının etkisi konusu araştırılmak istenmiştir. Araştırma betimsel nitelikte bir çalışma olup ilişkisel tarama modeli temelinde uygulama yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma örneklemini Kocaeli ili Başiskele ilçesinde özel okullarda okuyan 250 12. Sınıf öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak kişisel bilgi formu ve 'Kariyer Seçiminde Aile Etkisi Ölçeği' kullanılmıştır. Araştırma kapsamında oluşturulan anket formu basit tesadüfi örnekleme yöntemi kullanılarak 250 12. Sınıf öğrencisine online şekilde iletilmiştir. Geri dönüş alınan cevaplar değerlendirildiğinde araştırmanın 212 öğrenci ile gerçekleştirilmesine karar verilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda meslek seçimine aile etkisi ile alt boyutlar (maddi beklenti, değer ve inançlar, beklentiler, bilgi desteği) arasında pozitif yönlü bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

Regarding career choice some theorists have observed that the expectations of the individual change in certain age ranges and go through various decision-making stages from their birth to death. During these times, family has to play an important roles while an individual makes decisions about his future. First of all, the family should know the individual well and be a guide according to the characteristics of the individual. While some families behave accordingly, some others direct individuals to reputable professions or professions which are easily achieved without having any difficulty after vocational training. In doing so, they even put pressure on the individual. The pressure on the individual can cause him to make wrong choices and lead a life he does not want. In this context, since it is a very important issue to investigate the effect of family and school on the school choices of 12th grade students, it has been aimed here to investigate the effect of family structure on the choice of professions. This is a descriptive research and the application was made on the basis of the relational survey model. The study interviewed 250 12th grade students studying in different private schools in Başiskele district of Kocaeli province. Personal information form and family effect on career choice scale were employed as data collection tools in the study. The questionnaire form created within the scope of the research was sent online to 250 12th grade students selected using simple random sampling method. When the responses received were evaluated, it was decided to conduct the research with 212 students. The study results show that there is a positive relationship between family influence and the choice of profession and sub-dimensions (financial expectation, values and beliefs, expectations, information support).
