Abstract

BY A DOYEN - Salute, I am Mustafa Köksal, who was born in Kırşehir in 1946 and after receiving a bachelor’s degree in 1968 from Ankara University Faculty of Language, History and Geography and Ankara Higher Teacher Training School; Master’s degree from Yıldız Technical University in 1984; a doctorate degree from Istanbul University in 1990 became an associate professor in management and organization in 1990 and a professor in 2005, I am extremely pleased to work as a member of Istanbul Gelisim University. Since I started my first duty at the Council of State in 1965, I have worked for the last 36 years of my 55 years of working life at universities (Kocaeli University, Eurasia University and Istanbul Gelişim University) and I’m still on duty as the Head of the International Trade and Management Department at IGU Faculty of Economics, Administrative and Social Sciences.. I believe that the success achieved in my tasks is based on effective communication with the people and groups working. In particular, I believe that the cost of smiling and greeting is zero as well as increasing morale and motivation. I believe that the word please should be used in the instructions given to the employees and the person who worked at the end of the task should be thanked. I also believe that the other party must be listened to. I have tried to get my students to adopt the following 6 important principles: 1. To be honest at all times, 2. Doing the job right, 3. Empathize 4. To be knowledgeable, 5. Being skilled, 6. To have behavioral maturity. While expressing our determination to do whatever we can together with all my colleagues in our studentoriented university, our students are self-sufficient individuals and have the qualifications required by the business world, especially in order to become professionally equipped, I wish the 2020-2021 spring semester to be healthy, successful and peaceful and to start face-to-face training in a short time.
