Kadınlara uygulanan şiddet türlerinin depresyona etkisi

Abstract

Yaşadığımız dönemde bütün kültür ve ülkelerde yer alan şiddet, kişilere tüm yönleriyle zararlı olan (ruhsal, bedensel) davranışların sergilenmesi ve yine şiddetin uygulandığı bireylere cinsel, bedensel ve ruhsal yönden zarar veren davranışlar olarak açıklanmaktadır. Onaylanmayan davranışları barındıran şiddet, sivil çatışma ve savaşlar da dahil olmak üzere, bireylerin birbirleri arasında ya da kişinin özüne göre değişen bir geniş çerçevede görülmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Türkiye'de ve Dünya'da problemi olan kadınlara uygulanan şiddetin ve kadınlara uygulanan şiddet türlerinin depresyona etkisi araştırılmıştır. Araştırmaya Okyanus Koleji şubelerinde görev yapan kadın personeller katılmıştır. Araştırma 150 şiddet gören evli kadın personel üzerinden ilerletilmiştir. Değerlendirmeye katılan 150 bayanın %25,3 ü 18-30 yaş arasında, %41,3 ü 31-40 yaş aralığında ve %33,3 ü 40+ üzerindedir. Araştırmada şiddetle ilgili anket soruları ve Beck Depresyon Ölçeği kullanılarak şiddet türleri ve depresyon üzerindeki etkisi tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, uygulanan şiddetin depresyon düzeyi üzerinde etkisi olduğu saptanmıştır. Bu sebeple şiddet türleri ile depresyon arasında ilişki bulunduğu tespit edilmiştir. Depresyon düzeyine en çok etki eden şiddet türünün Fiziksel Şiddet olduğu saptanmıştır. Yapılan araştırma depresyon düzeyine etki etme durumuna göre sırayla; Fiziksel şiddet, Cinsel, Psikolojik şiddet, Ekonomik şiddet olduğu belirlenmiştir. Yaş ile şiddet türleri arasında anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmadığı belirlenmiştir. Şiddet türündeki 1 birim artışın depresyonda 0,092'lik bir artışa neden olduğu tespit edilmiştir.

Violence, which is common in all races and cultures in all areas of social life today, is defined as physical, emotional and sexual behavior that harms individuals physically or psychologically. Violence involving unacceptable behavior takes place in a wide range of characteristics, including in civil conflicts and wars, between individuals or with the individual's self-changing characteristics. In this study, the effects of violence against women in Turkey and in the world who have problems of depression and violence against women are investigated. Female staff working in the branches of Okyanus College participated in the study. The research has been announced on 150 married women who have been subjected to violence. Of the 150 women participating in the assessment, 25.3 % were between the ages of 18-30 and 41.3% were between the ages of 31-40 and 33.3% were over 40 years old. In the study, it was tried to determine the types of violence and its effect on depression by using survey questions about violence and Beck depression scale. As a result of the study, it was found that violence applied had an effect on the level of depression. Therefore, it was found that there is a relationship between the types of violence and depression.The research according to the level of effect on depression were determined in order as following: physical, sexual, psychological and economic violence. It was determined that there was no significant relationship between age and types of violence. It was found that 1 unit increase in type of violence caused an increase of 0.092 in depression.
