Roma Dönemi’nde Kıbrıs’ın Yaşadığı Dönüşüm

Bu çalışmanın amacı doğal zenginlikleri ve jeo-politik konumu nedeniyle tarih boyunca pek çok devletin ilgisini çeken Kıbrıs’ın Roma İmparatorluğu döneminde yaşamış olduğu dönüşümü incelemektir. Çalışmada Roma İmparatorluğu öncesinde Mısır, Hitit, Aka, Fenike, Asur, Pers, gibi pek çok uygarlığın egemenliğinde yaşayan Kıbrıs, söz konusu devletler sayesinde de bir değişim ve dönüşüm yaşamış olsa da Roma İmparatorluğu döneminde Kıbrıs halkı barış içinde yaşamış, ticaret gelişmiş ve refah arttığı gösterilmeye çalışılacaktır. Ayrıca çalışmada Roma İmparatorluğu döneminde adanın bütünleşmiş olduğu ve Roma sistemiyle yönetildiği, adada sağlanmış olan barış ile birlikte adada ekonomik bir gelişimin olduğu ve bu durumun git gide diğer alanlara da yayıldığı tespitleri yapılmıştır.

The purpose of this study is to examine the transformation of Cyprus, which had attracted many states throughout history due to its natural richness and geopolitical position, during the Roman Empire.
