Abstract

Sustainable Environment and Community Application and Research Center “The New Energy Equation: Critical Minerals, Nuclear Energy and Data Centers” Panel As part of MÜSİAD EXPO 2026, a panel titled “The New Energy Equation: Critical Minerals, Nuclear Energy and Data Centers” was held on September 24, 2026. The panel featured Michael Lee-Chin, Chairman of the Board of Portland Holdings Inc.; Assoc. Prof. Başak Özarslan, Director of the Sustainable Environment and Society Application and Research Center; and Asst. Prof. Can Burak Nalbantoğlu as speakers. The panel was moderated by Tuğba Çakılkaya, Business Development Director of MÜSİAD Canada. The panel addressed the role of critical minerals in energy and digital transformation investments, the role of nuclear energy in meeting the growing energy demands of data centers, energy and infrastructure planning in the age of artificial intelligence, and the emerging relationships among energy, technology, and investment.
