Cultural Heritage Values Have lncreased in Turkey! - Cultural heritage values in Turkey increased by 5.1% in 2021. The most important share in this increase is the museums. As of 2021, the total number of museums in Turkey was 519. 210 of these museums are under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and 309 of them are in the category of private museums. Similarly, the number of ruins increased in 2021 and became 143. National parks also increased by 2.2 percent in 2021. On hectare basis, this rate increased by 0.1 percent and became 908 thousand 543 hectares. While the number of nature parks increased by 4.0% to 260, the area of nature parks increased by 1.9% to 109,638 hectares.
