Abstract

DECISION PROCESSES IN CONCEPT HOTEL DESIGN UNDER THE SPOTLIGHT: AN INNOVATIVE SRP PROJECT The Scientific Research Project (SRP) titled “Synthesis of Design Inputs in Concept Hotel Architectural Design: A Multivariate Decision Framework Proposal, ” led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Kadir Öz, Head of the Department of Interior Architecture at the Faculty of Fine Arts (FAF), Istanbul Gelişim University (IGU), has officially commenced. The project aims to establish a systematic and scientific decision-making framework for concept hotel architecture by examining the multidimensional design inputs that shape architectural design decisions through advanced analytical methods. The research will comprehensively investigate the functional, aesthetic, user-oriented, environmental, and sustainability-driven parameters that influence concept hotel design. Based on the findings, the project will develop a multivariate decision-making framework designed to contribute to the academic literature while providing architects, interior architects, and industry professionals with a practical methodological tool for the design process. Adopting an interdisciplinary approach, the project seeks to advance data-driven decisionmaking mechanisms in architectural design and offer an innovative perspective on concept hotel architecture. By promoting more measurable, transparent, and sustainable design processes, the study is expected to make a significant contribution to both academic research and professional practice in the fields of architecture and interior architecture.
