Özet
SEMINAR ABOUT READING On 29th, Dr. Oya TUNABOYLU gave a seminar about Reading as a Vital Skill. The event focused on improving language skills and how the act of reading can be a great way to learn new words and see examples of how they are used in English. Oya Tunaboylu completed her bachelor’s degree in the first place in the department of English Language Teaching at Atatürk University in 1990. In the same year, she started working as a research assistant in the academia. She studied her first master’s degree at this university in the field of English Theatre. In 1995, she won a YÖK scholarship and went to Ohio State University and studied her master’s degree and PhD on Tesol. After returning to Turkey, she worked at Atatürk and Gazi Universities. Between 2005 and 2011, she worked as head of School of Foreign Languages department for two full semesters. During her time working as head of department, she was awarded with European Language Label Award for two consecutive years with two projects she was leading on. She still works at the same university at faculty of education in the department of English Language Teaching as a lecturer. Her fields of study are professional developments and multidisciplinary in language teaching.
