HAPPY VICTORY DAY In Turkey, August 30th is celebrated as Victory Day. This national holiday commemorates the Turkish victory at the Battle of Dumlupınar, which took place on August 26-30, 1922, and marked a decisive moment in the Turkish War of Independence. Led by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the Turkish forces defeated the Greek army, which had been advancing into Turkish territory. This victory was crucial in securing Turkish independence and paving the way for the establishment of the Republic of Turkey.
