[SDG 13]: Istanbul Gelisim University Climate Action Report: 2024

Abstract

SDG 13 Climate Action, one of the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG), provides a global framework for mitigating the adverse impacts of climate change, strengthening resilience to climate disasters, and accelerating the transition to a low-carbon future. Climate change is a global crisis that directly impacts ecosystems, economic activity, health conditions, and the well-being of societies. Universities are crucial stakeholders in combating climate change through the production of scientific knowledge, the development of sustainable energy solutions, policy recommendations, public awareness campaigns, and educational activities. In this context, SDG 13 is not only an environmental goal but also a global responsibility requiring urgent action, impacting the achievement of all SDGs.
