Istanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Health Sciences: Monthly Events and News Bulletin (Volume: 3, Issue: 29, May 2023)

10-16 May Disabled Week Symposium - Beyza Aslı BILSEL, Research Assistant at Istanbul Gelisim University, Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Occupational Therapy, talked about the professional role of Occupational Therapy in the Symposium on Occupational Therapy Approaches for Persons with Disabilities Week. Beyza Asli BILSEL, Research Assistant at the Department of Occupational Therapy, Faculty of Health Sciences, Istanbul Gelişim University, and the students of the Faculty of Health Sciences came together via Google Meet on 11.05.2023. One of the greatest contributions of occupational therapy to the health system is the holistic consideration of the effects of health factors or disorders that affect the individual, as stated in the definition of health by the World Health Organization. Occupational therapists work with people living with physical, sensory, and/or cognitive disabilities to manage daily functions, achieve independence and improve their quality of life. They evaluate activities that are important to the person and guide them every step of the way.
