April fools' day around the World
Many theories have been proposed;yet, the exact origin of April Fools' Day is not exactly known. It is mostly believed that it started in France in the middle of 16th century. Melissa Shofrer, the writer of the book The Story Behind April Fools' Day points out that "King Charles IV decided that the new year would start on January 1 instead of the first day of spring. Some people continued to follow the old idea that the new year started in late March or early April, when spring began. Other called these people fools (2020).
