Özel Okullarda Eğitim Alanında Yaşanan Problemler ve Çözüm Önerileri

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı, özel okulların karşılaşmış oldukları problemleri veli, öğrenci, öğretmen ve yönetici açısından ortaya koymaktır. Bu araştırma, genel tarama modeline dayalı betimsel bir çalışmadır. Araştırma 2017-2008 öğretim yılında Bursa ilinde 57’si kadın (%58.16), 41’i erkek (%41.84) toplam 98 öğrenci velisi; 110’u kız (%49.10), 114’ü erkek (%50.89) toplam 224 özel okul öğrencisi; 89’u kadın (%73.55), 32’si erkek (26.44) toplam 121 özel okulda görev yapan öğretmen ve 8’i kadın (%32), 17’si erkek (%68) toplam 25 özel okul yöneticisi araştırmaya katılmıştır. Araştırmada “Öğrenci özel okul değerlendirme anketi”, “Veli özel okul değerlendirme anketi”, “Öğretmen özel okul değerlendirme anketi” ve “ Okul yöneticisi özel okul değerlendirme anketi” olmak üzere araştırmacı tarafından dört farklı anket geliştirilmiştir. Araştırmacı tarafından geliştirilmiş anketler katılımcılarla yüz yüze konuşularak uygulanmıştır. Araştırma bulguları genel olarak incelendiğinde öğrenciler, özel okullarda ders saatlerinin çok fazla olduğunu, üzerlerinde akademik başarı için yoğun bir baskı hissettiklerini ve kendi kişisel hayatları için çok zamanları kalmadığını, veliler ise, özel okul fiyatlarının çok pahalı olduğunu, öğrencilerin burada başarılı olmaları gerektiğini belirtmişlerdir. Öğretmenler genel olarak özel okullarda başarı kriterinin akademik başarı olduğunu ve sınav başarısına göre niteliklerinin veli ve yöneticiler tarafından değerlendirildiğini, özlük haklarının zayıf olduğunu ve velilerden yoğun baskı yaşadıklarını belirtmişlerdir. Özel okul yöneticileri ise,velilerin akademik başarı beklentilerinin çok yüksek olduğunu, öğretmenlerin nitelikleri ile iligili sorunlar yaşadıklarını belirtmişlerdir. Elde edilen bulgular özel okulların farklı kategorilerde çeşitli problemlere sahip olduğunu göstermiştir. Ayrıca özel okulllarda işletme ve yönetim organizasyonlarında farklı problem yaşandığı tesbit edilmiştir. Araştırmadan elde edilen bulgular göz önüne alınarak araştırmacılar için öneriler geliştirilmiştir.

The purpose of this study is to reveal the problems faced by private schools in terms of parents, students, teachers and administrators. This research is a descriptive study based on the general survey model. During the 2017-2018 academic year in Bursa, the study involves a total of 98 parents 41 of whom are males (41.84%) and 57 of whom are female (57.16%); a total of 224 special school students, 110 of whom were girls (49.10%) and 114 of whom were male (50.89%); a total of 121 private school teachers 89 of whom are female (73.55%) and 32 of whom are male (26.44%); 25 private school administrators 8 of whom are female (32%) and 17of whom are male (68%). Four different questionnaires were developed by the researcher. These questionnaires are "student private school evaluation questionnaire", "parent private school evaluation questionnaire", "teacher private school evaluation questionnaire" and "school administrator private school evaluation questionnaire". Questionnaires developed by the researcher were applied face to face with the participants. When the research findings are examined in general, the students stated that they had a lot of hours of instruction in private schools, had an intense pressure on academic success and did not have much time for their own personal lives. The parents stated that private schools’ cost is too expensive and the students are supposed to be successfull at private schools. Teachers have generally stated that in private schools, the criteria for success is academic achievement and that qualifications are assessed by parents and administrators according to the success of the exam. They also stated that personal rights are weak and they are under intense pressure from the parents. Private school administrators stated that the expectation of academic achievement of parents was very high and that teachers had problems related to their qualifications. Findings have shown that private schools have various problems in different categories. In addition, it has also been found that in private schools there are different problems in business and management organizations.Based on the findings obtained from the research, recommendations for researchers have been developed.
