These rights strengthen on the basis of protecting every individual's dignity, securing their freedoms, and adhering to the principle of equality. Human Rights Week enables deeper and more profound thinking about the various ways in which human rights and social work relationships are established by reminding us of these universal values in different areas. Social work operates with the aim of increasing the welfare of individuals and society, ensuring social justice, and strengthening respect for human rights. It also carries an ethical responsibility to solve social problems and develop critical and analytical thoughts. To put it clearly, human rights are the fundamental principle of social work. It aims to respect the dignity of each individual and ensure social justice. In its efforts to reduce social inequalities, it aims to strengthen not only individuals but also many fragile social groups. In this sense, social work is an effective professional field in the protection and development of human rights.eninfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessIstanbul Gelisim UniversityFaculty of Health SciencesBulletinsIstanbul Gelisim University Faculty of Health Sciences: Monthly Events and News Bulletin (Volume: 3, Issue: 36, December 2023)Other3December 2023
