Johnson's theory of metaphor demonstrates that metaphor is not an only figure of speech, also a psychological and cognitive mechanism has an impact on perception and behavior. In the first chapter of this study; Lakoff's and Johnson's theory of metaphor and Turkish equivalents of their metaphor examples which they gave for English are mentioned.
