Münire in İzmir and Sevda Sodas in İstanbul are also places that keep this culture alive. While Istanbul Gelisim University (IGU), Faculty of Fine Arts, Gastronomy and Culinary Arts Department, Res. Asst. Emel Çirişoğlu talked about the place of soda in Turkey’s cultural memory, Mahmut Saklı told the story of gathering 120 different sodas. Emel Çirişoğlu said that soda, which has become a part of traditional culture in Turkey, finds a place for itself in almost every aspect of daily life and creates its own value, “Sodas served with roasted chickpeas on wooden chairs in summer cinemas, collecting soda caps, countless games played from soda caps, the sale of soda on the beaches, the values given according to the scarcity or abundance of soda caps, the fact that it is an indispensable part of the Turkish bath culture, and its drinking in tea gardens and coffee houses are memories of a period”.
