Although oral cancers are the 6th most common type of cancer in the world,
awareness of the issue is quite low. Stating that it is the 8th most deadly cancer type
among all cancers, Specialist Dentist Asst. Prof. Dr. Gülfem Özlü Uçan also added that
the diagnosis of oral cancers was delayed due to their insidious progression.
