Lise öğrencilerinde siber zorbalık ve siber mağduriyet durumlarının sosyal medya bağımlılığı ile ilişkisi

Abstract

Gelişen iletişim teknolojileri bireylere büyük kolaylıklar sağlamaktadır. Ancak bu kolaylıkların yanında getirdiği bir takım problemler bulunmaktadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı, lise öğrencilerinde siber zorbalık ve siber mağduriyet durumlarının sosyal medya bağımlılığı ile ilişkisini incelemektir. Araştırmanın örneklemini Gaziantep ilinde eğitim gören 232 kadın ve 83 erkek olmak üzere 315 lise öğrencisi oluşturmaktadır. Araştırma ilişkisel tarama modeline göre yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın verilerini elde etmek için; Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Siber Zorbalık Ölçeği, Siber Mağduriyet Ölçeği ve Sosyal Medya Bağımlılığı Ölçeği kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda, siber zorbalık ve siber mağduriyet ile sosyal medya bağımlılığı ölçeği ve alt boyutları arasında zayıf düzeyde pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki görülmektedir. Sosyal medyada geçirilen süre ile siber zorbalık arasında anlamlı bir ilişki görülmemektedir, siber mağduriyet ile sosyal medyada geçen süre arasında zayıf düzeyde pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmaktadır. Sosyal medya bağımlılığı ve alt boyutlarının siber zorbalık puanına etkisine bakıldığında; yoksunluk alt boyutunun negatif yönde anlamlı etkisi olduğu, günlük yaşamı etkileme/kontrolsüzlük alt boyutunun ise pozitif yönde anlamlı bir etkiye sahip olduğu görülmektedir. Sosyal medya bağımlılığı ve alt boyutlarının siber mağduriyet puanına etkisine bakıldığında; yoksunluk alt boyutunun anlamlı bir etkiye sahip olmadığı, günlük yaşamı etkileme/kontrolsüzlük alt boyutunun pozitif yönde anlamlı bir etkiye sahip olduğu görülmektedir.

Developing communication technologies provide great convenience to individuals. However, there are some problems with these facilities. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between cyberbullying and cyber victimization and social media addiction in high school students. The sample of the study consists of 315 high school students, 232 female and 83 male, studying in Gaziantep. The research was conducted according to the relational screening model. To obtain the data of the research; Personal Information Form, Cyber Bullying Scale, Cyber Victim Scale and Social Media Addiction Scale were used. As a result of the research, there is a weakly positive and significant relationship between cyberbullying and cyber victimization and the social media addiction scale and its sub-dimensions. There is no significant relationship between the time spent on social media and cyberbullying, there is a weakly positive and significant relationship between cyber victimization and the time spent on social media. Considering the effect of social media addiction and its sub-dimensions on the cyberbullying score; It is seen that the deprivation sub-dimension has a negative and significant effect, imposing on the daily life/uncontrollability sub-dimension has a positive and significant effect. Considering the effect of social media addiction and its sub-dimensions on the cyber victimization score; It is seen that the deprivation sub-dimension does not have a significant effect, while the sub-dimension of affecting daily life/the controllability has a positive and significant effect.
