Şiddet Eğiliminin Kişilik Tipolojileri ve Çocukluk Çağı Travmasıyla İlişkileri

Abstract

Günümüz dünyasında şiddet, her bireyin üzerinde olumsuz etkiler bırakan bir halk sağlığı problemidir. Şiddet, sosyal yaşamda neden olduğu olumsuzluklardan dolayı sosyal bilimlerin ilgisini çeken bir olgudur. Sosyolojik açıdan şiddet olgusu pek çok sayıda değişken tarafından çözümlenmektedir. Şiddet eğiliminin temelindeki kişilik tipolojileri ve çocukluk çağı travmalarının ilişkisinin araştırılması büyük bir öneme sahiptir. Bu araştırmanın amacı, kişilik tipolojisi ve çocukluk çağı travmalarının şiddet eğilimi üzerindeki etkilerini irdelemektir. Bu amaca ulaşmak için nicel araştırma ve literatür taraması yapılmıştır. Bu araştırmada bireyin yaşı, medeni durumu, eğitim düzeyi, çalışma durumu, anne ve babaların eğitim düzeyinin, çocukluk çağı travmaları ve şiddet üzerindeki etkileri araştırılmıştır. Araştırmada, grubun fiziksel ihmal, psikolojik istismar ve cinsel istismar ile şiddet davranışlar düzeyleri arasında pozitif yönlü anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmaktadır. Çocukluk çağı travmalarının şiddet düzeylerine etki ettiğine yönelik anlamlı sonuçlar elde edilmiştir. Aynı zamanda çocukluk çağı travmalarının bireylerin şiddet eğilim düzeylerini etkilediğine dair anlamlı sonuçlar elde edilmiştir.

Violence is a public health problem that has adverse effects on every single individual in today's world. Violence is a phenomenon attracting the interest of social sciences because of its negative effects to societies. Sociologically, case of violence has too many variables. It has great significance, the relationship between personality typologies and childhood traumas on the basis of tendency to violence. The purpose of this research, the effects of personality typology and childhood trauma on the tendency to violence. Literature search and quantitative research were conducted to achieve this purpose. In this research, impact of some parameters such as age of the individuals, marital status, education levels, working conditions, education level of tha individual's parents are investigated in terms of the relation between childhood trauma and violence. This study proves that there is a both increasing relation between the physical abuses, psychological abuses and sexual abuses in the childhood of the individuals and their current violent behaviour levels. At the same time, individuals with the violence are effected by their childhood trauma and their violence levels is directly related with their childhood trauma.
