Hemşirelik Öğrencilerinin Profesyonel Değer Algıları ve Etkileyen Faktörler

Abstract

Bu araştırma hemşirelik öğrencilerinin profesyonel değer algılarını ve etkileyen faktörleri belirlemek amacıyla yapılmıştır. Tanımlayıcı araştırmanın evrenini, İstanbul’da bulunan bir özel üniversitenin Sağlık Bilimleri Yüksekokulu’nda hemşirelik bölümünde öğrenim gören 254 öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Araştırmada örneklem seçimine gidilmeksizin çalışmaya katılmayı kabul eden 211 öğrenci çalışma kapsamına alınmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri “Tanıtıcı Bilgi Formu ve Hemşirelerin Profesyonel Değerleri Ölçeği (HPDÖ)” kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda öğrencilerin Profesyonel Değerleri Ölçeği puan ortalamasının 132.37±15.84 olduğu saptanmıştır. Ölçekten elde edilen en yüksek alt boyut puanının ise ''İnsan Onuru'' (47.87±5.99) olduğu belirlenmiştir. Profesyonel Değerleri Ölçeği puan ortalaması ile öğrencilerin gelir durumu, sağlık mensubu yakını olma durumu, mezun olduğu okul ve meslekten beklentisi karşılaştırıldığında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı farklılık bulunmazken, cinsiyet, okuduğu sınıf ve okuldan beklentileri ile aralarında istatistiksel açıdan anlamlı farklılıkların olduğu saptanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, birinci sınıfta okuyan, cinsiyeti kadın olan ve okuldan beklentisi meslek sahibi olan öğrencilerin Profesyonel Değerleri Ölçeği puan ortalaması diğerlerine göre anlamlı bir şekilde daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Eğitim-öğretim sürecinin, hemşirelik öğrencilerinin hem bireysel hem de mesleki değerlerinin farkına varabileceği ve bu değerleri kazanabileceği şekilde yapılandırılması, nitelikli ve kaliteli bakımın verilmesinde çok önemlidir. This study was conducted in order to determine students’ professional value perception and affecting factors. Method: The population of the study comprised 254 nursing students at a private Health Sciences College in İstanbul, without sampling, a number of 211 students who agreed to participate were included to study. Data for the research was collected from the “Information Form” and “Professional Values Scale”. Results: In this research, the mean score of students’ professional values was found to be 132.37±15.84. Among all the measurements, “Human Honor” subscales were found to be on top (47.87±5.99). There was no statistically significant differences between the Professional Values Scale mean score and student’s income level, proximity to the health-system worker, graduated high school and expectations from the education and profession (p> 0.05), whereas there was significant difference between Professional Values Scale mean score and students’ gender, class levels and expectations from school (p< 0.05). Conclusion: Professional Values Scale score of 1st year female students, desiring to have a profession was significantly higher than the others. Overall, re-building the educational teaching based on the increment awareness of both self and professional values is highly essential for a better health service.
