The aim of the present study is to examine the effects of integrating Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) on the motivation of students learning English in a preparatory
school at a private university in Istanbul, Turkey. The study also attempts to find out how the students and their instructor perceive teaching and learning English through this particular approach.
The participants consisted of 19 intermediate level students and their instructor. To meet these
objectives, the quantitative data were collected through pre- and post-motivation questionnaires
whereas the qualitative data came from reflective journals kept by the two CLIL had a positive influence on the students’ motivation while learning English. In addition, the reflective journals suggested that both students and their instructor perceived CLIL as an engaging and functional instructional tool while teaching and learning English. CLIL also helped students to become more responsible
for their own learning process. Finally, the two groups of participants shared the difficulties they
experienced with this approach, such as timing, workload and speaking. Based on these findings, the
study offers recommendations and implications about using CLIL in English classrooms.

The discussion of ‘‘can machines think?’’ which started with the invention of the modern computer, brought along the
question of ‘‘can machines design?’’ by researchers in the design field. These developments in information technologies
have also affected the architecture. Artificial intelligence applications are encountered in many areas such as pricing
estimation, energy conservation security systems of buildings, ventilation systems, user-oriented interactive design solutions, computer-aided programs used in the plan production phase and design process. When the literature on artificial
intelligence applications in the architecture is reviewed, it can be seen that it generally includes shape grammars, graph
theory, decision trees, constraint-based models, machine learning methods, RNN (Recursive Neural Networks), CNN
(Convolutional Neural Network) and GAN (Generative Adversarial Network) algorithms. In this study, the use of artificial
intelligence algorithms in architecture was examined, and an example was designed to determine the architectural
structures of different periods by using CNN (Convolutional Neural Network). In the study, the open source TensorFlow
library developed by Google and the Python programming language were used. Employing a statistical approach and
utilizing convolutional neural networks (CNNs), a study has successfully classified the current flow patterns of buildings
based on datasets comprising facades of Gothic, Modern, and Deconstructivist architectural styles. The findings demonstrate the efficacy of CNNs in accurately distinguishing the intricate details of diverse architectural styles. Recognizing
elements from different periods using the CNN algorithm can examine not only individual buildings but also the relationship of buildings with their environments. It can also gain an important place in the field of conservation of the
architectural discipline. The historical processes, aesthetic features and changes of protected buildings can be learned with
the CNN algorithm and can guide restoration decisions. As a result of the study, the employed CNN-based model can
correctly classify structures with 84.66% accuracy rate.

Turizm endüstrisi, dünya genelinde hızla gelişen bir sektör olmasından do- layı, sürekli değişen teknolojik yeniliklere uyum sağlamak zorundadır. Bu çerçevede turizm endüstrisinde bulunan işletmeler, müşteri memnuniyeti ve deneyimini artırmak için hizmetlerini dijitalleştirdiğinden bu yana, veri yö- netimi, güvenliği ve gizliliği konuları daha da önem kazanmıştır. Çünkü veri yönetimi ve güvenliği, günümüz iş dünyasında tartışılan en kritik konular arasında yer almaktadır. Ancak, geleneksel veri yönetim sistemleri, ciddi gü- venlik açıkları ve veri ihlallerine maruz kalma endişesi taşıdığından, turizm endüstrisi içerisinde daha güvenli ve şeffaf bir veri yönetimi sistemi ihtiyacı bulunmaktadır. Bu noktada Blockchain teknolojisi, son yıllarda turizm en- düstrisinde veri yönetimi ve veri güvenliği konularına alternatif çözüm sunan önemli bir teknoloji olarak karşımıza çıkmaktadır.

Anthropometric Analysis of Cabin Crew Selection Criteria Based on A380 Aircraft Model

Airline companies use specific selection criteria for cabin crew to ensure that
candidates meet their physical requirements. Some of these criteria are the height and
reach distance of the candidates. This selection criterion is designed so that cabin crew
can effectively perform tasks such as being able to master emergency equipment, have
access to upper storage compartments and assist disabled or injured passengers. The
aim of this study is to examine the height and reach distance requirements,
anthropometrically according to the A380 aircraft model. The study examined
anthropometric studies conducted in Qatar Airways, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, All
Nippon Airways, and Qantas Airlines and provided the collection of height and reach
distance data of the people in these countries under a single roof and determined the
status of A380 aircraft model. As a result of the research, it is recommended that airline
companies use standardized anthropometric measurement parameters in the
selection of cabin crews.; Havayolu şirketleri, adayların fiziksel gereksinimlerini karşılamasını sağlamak için
kabin ekibi için özel seçim kriterleri kullanır. Bu kriterlerden bazıları adayların boy ve
uzanma mesafesidir. Bu seçim kriteri, kabin ekibinin acil durum ekipmanlarına hakim
olabilme, üst saklama bölmelerine erişebilme ve engelli veya yaralı yolculara yardımcı
olabilme gibi görevleri etkin bir şekilde yerine getirebilmesi için tasarlanmıştır. Bu
çalışmanın amacı, A380 uçak modeline göre yükseklik ve erişim mesafesi
gereksinimlerinin antropometrik olarak incelenmesidir. Qatar Airways, Singapore
Airlines, Emirates, All Nippon Airways ve Qantas Airlines'ta yapılan antropometrik
çalışmaların incelendiği çalışmada, bu ülkelerdeki kişilerin boy uzunluğu ve erişim
mesafesi verilerinin tek çatı altında toplanması sağlanmış ve A380 uçak modelinin
durumu tespit edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda havayolu şirketlerinin kabin ekibi
seçiminde standardize edilmiş antropometrik ölçüm parametrelerini kullanmaları
önerilmektedir.
