Empowering impact: the influence of charismatic leadership via corporate social responsibility on employee quality of life in hotels
(Emerald Group Publishing Ltd., 2025) Salem, Islam Elbayoumi; El Gamil, Rehab Ahmed Mohamed; El-Said, Osman Ahmed; Youssif, Marwa
Purpose – Hotel management and academia are increasingly interested in corporate social responsibility (CSR) and charismatic leadership. In this context, the presentstudy examines how charismatic leaders affect employee quality of life through CSR practices in hotels. Design/methodology/approach – The survey encompassed employees working at either three-star or five-star hotels in Oman. The model was tested using data gathered from 396 hotel employees. Findings – Results showed that charismatic leadership positively affects CSR-induced intrinsic and extrinsic attributions. CSR positively affected task significance and intrinsic quality and negatively affected turnover intention. Quality of life predictors had a considerable impact, with intrinsic quality and turnover intention standing out. There was no significant effect of task significance on quality of life. The relationship between charismatic leadership and CSR was stronger for employees in five-star hotels and weaker for employees in three-star hotels. The CSR role mediates the relationship between charismatic leadership and quality of life. Practical implications – The results indicate that charismatic leaders exert a substantial impact on employees’ attributions of CSR. Upper-level management must emphasize fostering the cultivation of charismatic leadership attributes among non-charismatic leaders as a means to enhance employees’ perceptions of CSR. Originality/value – Few studies have focused on analyzing employees’ perceptions of CSR activities on a micro level. Investigating CSR phenomena in the context of internal stakeholders, especially employees, is very rare.

Exploration of soliton solutions and modulation instability analysis for cold bosonic atoms in a zig-zag optical lattice in quantum physics
(Springer Science and Business Media B.V., 2025) Kopçasız, Bahadır
This paper investigates the widely used zigzag optical lattice prototype for cold bosonic atoms. This prototype generally represents nonlinear waves in quantum physics. To investigate the soliton solutions of the offered equation, we consider two analytical solution methods. The first is a new version of the generalized exponential rational function method (nGERFM), and the second is the G G2 -expansion function method. The nGERFM facilitates the generation of multiple solution types, including singular, shock, singular periodic, exponential, combo trigonometric, and hyperbolic solutions in mixed forms. Thanks to the G G2 - expansion function method, we obtain trigonometric, hyperbolic, and rational solutions. The modulation instability of the offered prototype is discussed, with numerical simulations complementing the analytical outcomes to better understand the solutions’ dynamic behavior. The findings are novel and can be useful for studying bosonic superfluidity, quantum magnetism, many-body spin dynamics, and Bose–Einstein condensation, among other studies involving ultracold atoms. These outcomes propose a foundation for future examination, making the solutions effective, manageable, and reliable for tackling complex nonlinear problems. The methodologies used in this study are robust, influential, and practicable for diverse nonlinear partial differential B. Infation and consumption inequality
(Springer Nature, 2025) Daşdemir, Esat
This study investigates the relationship between infation and consumption inequality in the Turkish economy. It utilizes data from household budget and consumption surveys conducted between 2002 and 2023. Lorenz curves and Gini coefcients were calculated to measure consumption inequality across various income and consumption groups, and these metrics are introduced to the literature. The fndings indicate that increases in the consumption share of upper-income groups tend to coincide with periods of heightened infation. The results further suggest that price increases in specifc categories of goods and services can intensify consumption inequality within those categories. Based on the analysis of 12 goods and services groups in the Turkish economy, the presence of both absolute and relative infation in a category is found to increase consumption inequality. In particular, relative price increases are associated with a more pronounced rise in inequality. While a one-unit increase in the infation rate of a category raises consumption inequality by 0.12%, a relative increase in that category’s price raises it by 4.48%.
