Innovative Contributions of Space Research to Other Sectors: Recommendations for Technology Policy Makers
(Vedat Veli Çay, 2025) Yazıcı, Ayşe Meriç; Darıcı, Sefer
Space research is not only limited to the development of space technologies, but also has the
potential to provide innovative solutions to other sectors. This study examines how the
technological advances achieved by space research can be transferred to various industries and
the role of policy makers in this process. In particular, the innovative contributions of space
technologies to strategic sectors such as energy, health, agriculture, communications and
defence are discussed and concrete examples of the applicability of these technologies to other
fields are presented. In this context, the study provides strategic recommendations for
technology policy makers and underlines the necessary steps for sectoral transformation and
sustainable growth. Technologies derived from space exploration offer effective solutions in a
wide range of fields, from innovative materials to artificial intelligence, from robotic systems
to data processing capacity. The study emphasises that policy makers should embrace these
innovative solutions provided by space exploration and support sectoral adaptation processes.
By creating regulations that encourage the transfer of innovative technologies, policy makers
can strengthen cross-sectoral cooperation and accelerate the diffusion of new technologies.
Moreover, the establishment of cooperation platforms between the public and private sectors
can increase the sharing of technological know-how and contribute to the development of the
innovation ecosystem.
Science in the Kitchen-July 2025: Health, Nutrition and Social Responsibility
(İstmag Magazin Gazetecilik, 2025) Doğan, Murat
In a world where choices multiply, supermarket shelves seem endless, and information fills our screens,
even the act of eating has become a profound ethical decision. What we put on our plates no longer just
affects our bodies; it also impacts the environment, the economy, public health, and even future
generations. Food, once a matter of survival, has become a powerful expression of identity, faith, and
responsibility.
Fear of Missing Out in Tourism: A Scale Development
(Taki Can Metin, 2025) Çetinkaya, Öznur; Yıldız, Sercan
This study aims to develop a valid and reliable scale to measure Fear of Missing Out (FoMO) in the tourism context and assess
its psychometric properties. Based on Przybylski et al.'s (2013) original FoMO scale, a tourism-specific version was created to
evaluate symptoms such as fear of losing social connections, concerns about others having more satisfying experiences, and
anxiety about missing important social events in tourism. During scale development, content validity analyses were conducted
to assess item validity and linguistic adequacy. Exploratory factor analysis, internal consistency, and discriminant validity
analyses were performed to examine construct validity and reliability. As a result of the analysis, it was revealed the Fear of
Missing Out in Tourism (FoMO-T) scale consists of three dimensions and nine items: Fear of Losing Social Connections, the
Idea of Others Having Better Experiences, and the Need to Learn and Share Information. This study provides a scale for
understanding FoMO’s impact on tourism behavior and highlights the importance of the FoMO phenomenon for the tourism
sector.
Evaluation of The Eu Aviation Sector’s Progress Towards Net-Zero Co2 Emission By 2050
(Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi, 2025) İlhan, Caner; Şahin, Aybike Esra
The study examines 31 years of aviation-related CO2 emission data from 1990 to 2021, utilizing advanced modeling techniques
such as linear regression and Prophet to anticipate CO2 emissions for the critical years 2030 and 2050. The report digs into
each country's performance, assessing their promises to cut or even eliminate carbon emissions in line with the ambitious
targets of the European Green Deal. Romania emerges as a noteworthy pioneer, demonstrating a remarkable commitment to
decreasing emissions by an average of 47.22% by 2030 and 56.54% by 2050, establishing itself as a vital contributor to carbon
neutrality. On the other hand, Luxembourg, Poland, and Spain are recognized as countries that deviate considerably from the
established targets, raising worries about their capacity to reach the ambitious goals set by the European Green Deal. The study
not only gives insights into expected CO2 emission trajectories but also helps our knowledge of the obstacles and possibilities
each nation has in achieving the carbon-neutral ambitions described in the European Green Deal.
